Ravid Straussman, MD, PhD, completed a BS Summa Cum Laude at the Hebrew University/Hadassah Medical School. He earned his MSc in medical biochemistry and then graduated the MD/PhD program of Hadassah Medical School. In 2013, after completing his MD internship and two postdoctoral training periods at the Hebrew University, as well as at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, he joined the Weizmann Institute as a principal investigator.
The Straussman Lab studies mechanisms of resistance to anti-cancer therapies. Specifically, the laboratory focuses on understanding the roles of the tumor microenvironment and the tumor microbiome on resistance to cytotoxic, targeted and immune mediated anti-cancer therapies.
